The youngest sister wished to give birth to a girl who sheds tears of money, and two boys, one with a moon on his forehead, the other with a star. It comes to pass and the elder sisters dispose of the babies, replacing them with dogs. The king has the queen tied to a tree and spat on by the public. The children are rescued by an old Indian, and they have several aventures, and are eventually reunited with their parents, with the help of the dancing water, the mellon with pearls and the talking bird.

The other two wished for rice and water that could replenish themselves, whilst the youngest wished for children that would be born with the moon and stars on their foreheads. It came to pass. One of the sisters steals Kaset’s infants and set them adrift in a box. they are rescued by an old lady. When they grow up, they go adventuring and bump into their father, who takes them to his house. They refuse to eat until they know the reason for tying up the woman they have seen behind the house. When they are told the story, they remove their turbans and reveal the moon and star on their forehead, and their mother who had been tied up, recognizes them. They are all reconciled.

A woman with two daughters remarries after her first husband dies, and has a third daughter. She treats the third child badly. One day the king gives a ball for his son to choose a bride. A magic crab provides clothes and transportation for the third daughter to go to the ball. The prince is enamoured of her, but she goes away before midnight. At the second ball, she leaves behind her shoe as advised by the crab. The prince’s dog finds her and returns the shoe to her, after which the prince decides to marry her. But the King’s ministers forbid the wedding because of unequal ranks. A nearby princess is chosen as bride. On the day of the wedding, the crab becomes a fairy godmother and takes the forsaken girl to the church, where the wedding is interrupted and she takes the place of the princess.
