During a drought, the King orders the animals to dig a pond. All the animals do except for Soungoula. But he dirties the pond every night and kills all the guards through trickery. Then Tortoise has tar put on his back and Soungoula is caught on it and taken to the King. At the hearing, he convince the King to have him tied in banana cords and left in a sunny field, where he escapes.
