Two sea captains talk about the type of woman they’d like to marry. One says he would like to marry a poor girl and his friend mocks him. It transpires that he does marry a poor girl, whom he leaves behind with his locket. His friend tricks him into thinking his wife has betrayed him and shows the locket as proof. The captains dispatches his wife in a small boat. They are later reunited when her innocence is proven.
